    What We Accomplished – Community Partners

     

     

    The Florida Orchestra - String petting zoos - Side by Side performances planned - String Specialist Luz Velasquez provides advanced string sessions with our level 2 orchestra students. Spring AI project, Storyboard development and String Soundtracks.

     

    Highland Lakes Arts Guild - Donation to our visual arts department.

     

    William Shellhaas - Donation of a Lap Harp and guitar.

    The James Museum of Western and Wildlife Art 

     

    Mahaffey Theater (Katrina Young) – Class Acts Program provides live theater experiences for our students that connect with many ELA benchmarks.

     

    Focus 5 – Spearheading our school-wide initiative to become an arts-integrated school, focusing on the theater with Acting Right strategies.  Richardson trained with the creator of Acting Right in Washington D.C. in the summer of 2023.

     

    Arts4 Life 

     

    The Kennedy Center  -

    • P. Richardson is currently working towards a national certificate in Arts Integration. 
    • Attended the conference in June and made some connections with the KC staff for future partnerships.
    • Kennedy Artist, Daniel Barash worked with our staff and students for 3 days on the art form of Shadow puppetry and integration with math and ELA concepts.
    • Imani Gonzalez worked with 4th grade students on an Arts Integration project including the construction of Blues lyrics and ELA strategies.
    • Sean Layne - Founder of Focus 5, actor, and author did a residency in early 2024 working with students on the Actor's toolbox strategies and teaching demo classes.

     

    Clearwater Jazz Education Outreach – Steve Weinberger chose our school to pilot the My Journey in Jazz program and I am happy to say that we have completed 3 years with the educational outreach program.

     

    The Giving Tree – 2nd annual multi-Arts Project –

    Drum building, designing, and performing with 5th-grade students.  (All students were able to keep the drums)

     

    WholeHearted Education – Artist in Residence – Karim Manning came in to work with our students and math coach combining the Hip-Hop art form with a math concept to produce a product that reflected skills in both areas.
