• The academic team is selected through a test that is administered to the whole program. The top 4-8 scoring cadets are invited to compete in the JROTC Leadership and Academic Bowl. Cadets are tested on their skills and knowledge in math, science, reading comprehension, grammar, current events, and JROTC leadership. This team has the opportunity to compete at four different levels, the final one being the championship.

    The test to qualify for the team is administered every year. Seniors are the only cadets unable to participate in the JLAB competition. There is no afterschool practice for this team.
