Camp Invention is for students entering grades 3-5 and by invitation only for Hispanic and ESOL students and students enrolled in a gifted or talented program in the current school year. This hands-on, collaborative camp from the National Inventors Hall of Fame gives students the opportunity to develop their problem-solving powers. Activities range from exploring electromagnetic waves as they assemble their very own receiver and transmitter and are given secret messages in Morse code; exploring special effects in the entertainment industry and entrepreneurial principles and crafting marketing strategies to pitching their arcade ideas to hook investors and secure funding for their claw arcades.
