Hola! My name is Mr. Abi and I am from Puerto Rico (boricua!). I moved to the US in 2012 and I have been a member of the Perkins family since 2016; where people are amazing and the school is a wonderful place. It is not just an honor but also a blessing to be a part. My position is Medical and Behavioral Assistant (MBA) and I work with special needs students in the general education class. My first student became an inspiration and therefore I felt committed in this area. He was and still my number one coach. 

About myself, I have a BA in Visual Arts and currently studying Education. Some other experiences within the educational field includes tutoring, YMCA, R’Club, fundraisings, volunteering, organizing and joining different small events, among others. Everything with the same purpose of student’s achievements. 

Even that Arts is my strength, I enjoy the special needs field also. It is way more what I learn from them than the other way. As long as I am teaching, I am living my passion! 

As Nelson Mandela once said: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”; I also believe that education is the best way to transform and improve lives, societies, nations, and all places around the world.
