Band

  •  The John Hopkins Middle School Band is an innovative music education program. Our program strives to be the standard of excellence for middle school instrumental music programs throughout Pinellas County and the state of Florida. The program works to take students at all levels of musical training and experience and raise them to the highest levels of musicianship.

Program students in band will learn proper instrument maintenance and will hone their skills to become a better musician. Students will identify where their musical strengths are by introducing them to music theory and basic techniques. Available studies in Band include: Horns, Guitar, Keyboard, and potentially steel pan. Students will participate in many concerts and opportunities that will prepare them for their future endeavors!

Students are encouraged to audition for MPA and the District’s All County Ensemble. John Hopkins has adjunct specialist instructors for percussion, woodwinds, and keyboard, and brass, so every area within the instrumental studies are explicitly covered!
