Big Brothers Big Sisters Mentoring

  • Clearwater High School is proud to partner with Big Brothers/Big Sisters and provide our students with unique work-based mentorships. Through these mentorships, high school students are paired with someone who works at the Pinellas County Administrative Offices and learn about various careers available in our county.

This internship is a two-year commitment; students are selected during their 10th grade year and commit to attending monthly field trips (during 11th and 12th grades) where they will visit numerous county offices. While on these trips, students will tour the facility, meet with their mentor, listen to speakers, and experience workshops on college/career readiness. There are no academic requirements for this program, and all 10th grade students are encouraged to apply!

This year, due to Covid-19, the format for the program will be a bit different. Because we cannot have onsite or in person visits, mentoring will be done virtually. These virtual mentoring sessions will be scheduled and monitored by Big Brothers/Big Sisters. Big Brothers/Big Sisters will also offer virtual workshops with topics ranging from personal finance, to career planning, to time management. All MyPCS and face-to-face 10th graders are encouraged to apply!
