• Developing Character
Character education is an integral part a student’s academic program and forms the foundation of the guidance curriculum. Each month we celebrate one character quality. Teachers incorporate lessons about these qualities and the counselor offers class lessons about character.

Anona provides two award programs to recognize students who demonstrate excellent character. These programs are:

    C2C Awards:
Each month teachers choose a student who has best demonstrated the quality of the month and completes a special certificate for that student. On the first Wednesday of the month, our special guest and business partner, Erica Martin from Authentic Marshal Arts, calls these students to the Media Center and provides them with a special treat and their certificate. We take a group photo and the names of these students are posted in the main office.

    Golden Apple Awards:
Every time a student demonstrates any of the character qualities, the teacher fills out a slip with the student’s name and places it in a special box in the media center. On the fourth Friday of each month, we draw out one student’s name from each teacher’s box and announce them on the morning news. These students are invited to have lunch with the principal and receive a certificate and special treats.
