Free workshops and webinars provide parents with additional tools to support their children
The district has announced the fall catalog for its Parent Academy workshops, a series of classes for parents and caregivers focused on promoting academic success, parenting and advocacy and, personal and individual growth. This year, many of the workshops will be webinars, where parents can watch them from their homes.
The mission of Parent Academy is to provide parents, families and the community with the necessary tools and skills to support students academically, socially, and emotionally, while building a cornerstone to a healthier and safe community.
Our 2018 fall catalog focuses on three key pillars:
- Student achievement- workshops provide information and strategies for parents to support their child at home
- Parent advocacy- workshops provide information and strategies to help parents advocate for their child
- Personal growth- workshops build parent confidence and provide them opportunities for personal growth
