    Mandy Perry is the Principal of Pinellas Virtual School, an online K-12 Pinellas County public school. She oversees the school’s operations, ensuring teachers and students are up-to-date on the latest technology conducive to online learning. 

    Prior to joining Pinellas Virtual School in 2013, Mrs. Perry served as a virtual instructor of World History and Law Studies for Florida Virtual School. She went through Florida Virtual School’s leadership program and became an instructional leader (principal) before concluding her four-year tenure. She found the virtual concept appealing, educating students in an environment of their choosing and at their own pace.

    Mrs. Perry began her career in education with Pinellas County Schools in 1996. Over the course of nearly 15 years with the school district, her role in education evolved from an Exceptional Student Education Assistant to a teacher of American Government, Economics, and World History at Pinellas Park High School. While a teacher at Pinellas Park High School, she was a finalist for the Florida Council for Social Studies Warren Tracy Beginning Teacher Award. In 2009, she was also nominated as Pinellas County’s Social Studies Teacher of the Year for High Schools.

    Mrs. Perry serves as a member of the Blended and Online Learning Discovery of Florida Executive Board. She is the organization’s president, representing 67 public virtual school districts across the state. In 2024, she was honored to speak as the Keynote Speaker at the Blended and Online Learning Discovery of Florida Annual Symposium. Mrs. Perry was also the recipient of the Blended and Online Learning Discovery of Florida's Administrator Leadership Award during the 2024 Annual Symposium. She was recognized for her leadership within her school and beyond, with a highlight on her efforts that have contributed significantly to the success of her students, colleagues and staff as well as her history of collaboration among peers within the district and state.

    Mrs. Perry also serves as a member of the Leadership Team for the National Standards for Quality Online Learning. She contributes to the leadership team as an expert in online learning to help shape and guide the standards utilized throughout the nation. She is also currently on the executive board of the Virtual Learning Leadership Alliance. The Virtual Learning Leadership Alliance (VLLA) is an association of supplemental virtual programs from across the United States. VLLA's mission is to strengthen online learning through leadership, advocacy, expertise, and professional relationships.

    Mrs. Perry graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science Education from the University of South Florida, where she also earned a Master's degree in Educational Leadership.
