FAQ
What is my role as a volunteer?
You will be assigned to work in a business with a small group of children. Your duties will include:
- Assist students in performing their assigned job duties.
- Assist students with completing tasks on time.
- Help students prepare their bank deposits.
- Enjoy lunch with your child during their assigned lunch break.
Do I need to attend a volunteer training session?
Yes. The mandatory training session will be held the morning of your child’s visit. You will need to arrive at Enterprise Village prior to the students’ arrival. Check with the school to find out your exact training time. Your child should report to school as usual that morning. They will be transported to Enterprise Village at the appropriate time.If you have volunteered at Enterprise Village within the last year, you do not need to attend this training and should arrive at Enterprise Village 15 minutes after your school's start time. Please note that Enterprise Village and Finance Park are entirely different programs. Previous volunteer experience in one program does not prepare you for the other.
Will I be able to work in the same business as my child?
No. This is their day to be independent decision makers! If there is more than one school attending, you will be placed with students from your school, but not directly with your own child. What should I wear?
Your attire should be business casual, but make sure to wear comfortable shoes as you may be on your feet a great deal. Also, it can sometimes be a little chilly, so you may want to bring a sweater or jacket. What are my lunch options?
You may purchase a McDonald’s lunch for $3.00 (salads no longer available). This lunch consists of chicken nuggets, fruit snacks and a drink. You are welcome to bring your own lunch. Refrigeration is available.Am I able to bring a younger sibling?
No. Due to insurance restrictions, volunteers may not bring non-participating children. If you have any additional questions, please contact Katie Hilton at (727) 588-3746 ext. 2257 or email hiltonk@pcsb.org.
