Mrs. Kelly Hicks
7th Grade Assistant Principal

Kelly Hicks is currently the 7th Grade Assistant Principal at Meadowlawn Middle School.  Prior to becoming an Assistant Principal, she spent 5 years as the Pinellas County Schools PreK-12 Health and Physical Education Instructional Staff Developer.  Her responsibilities were coaching and supporting district teachers in best practice, writing curriculum, analyzing district Health and PE assessment data, and facilitating professional development, among other things.  Before that, she began her teaching career at Carwise Middle School and Clearwater Intermediate School, teaching 6^th-8^th and 5^th-9^th graders in Health and Physical Education.  While at Clearwater Intermediate, she served as the athletic coordinator, coached volleyball, basketball, and track, and was the elective department head. 

Mrs. Hicks grew up in Buffalo, New York and Green, Ohio before attending Kent State University.  There she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education.  She earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education. 

Mrs. Hicks currently resides in Clearwater with her husband and two boys.  Her family enjoys boating, camping, and spends a lot of time at the baseball fields! She is so happy to be a part of the Lancer family and can’t wait to be a part of an extremely successful school year.
