    Mrs. Brewster

    Dear Parents and Guardians,

I am delighted to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the new principal of Highland Lakes Elementary! I am thrilled to be joining such a dedicated staff and community that provides a great place for students to learn and grow.

Allow me to share a bit about myself. My name is Julie Brewster and I bring with me 14 years of experience in education, with a strong passion for academic excellence, personal growth, and a safe and inclusive learning environment. My educational journey includes a Bachelor of K-6 Education from St. Petersburg College, a Master of Educational Leadership from National Louis University. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working in various educational roles, including as an elementary school classroom teacher for 5 years at High Point Elementary, an Assistant Principal for 9 years at Sunset Hills Elementary and Sandy Lane Elementary. Each of these experiences have provided me with valuable insights into the diverse needs of students, parents, and educators.

At Highland Lakes Elementary, my goal is to build upon and elevate the existing culture of excellence and achievement, and to work collaboratively with our exceptional staff to provide an enriching educational experience for all students. I believe in fostering a positive and inclusive school culture that celebrates student success in all areas, promotes positive citizenship, and values the unique talents and contributions of every individual.

I truly believe that open communication and collaboration are essential to student success, and I encourage parents and guardians to actively engage in their child’s education and participate in the vibrant school community. I am truly excited to embark on this journey with all of you and look forward to getting to know each and every one of our students and families.

Have a wonderful, relaxing summer, and I look forward to seeing everyone in the fall.

    Sincerely,

    Julie Brewster | Principal

    Mr. Daniel Lennox

    Greeting Panthers!

I am proud and excited to be nurturing tomorrow’s leaders today here at Highland Lakes Elementary! Fun fact – I am living a “full circle” experience as I was a classroom teacher intern at Highland Lakes in the fall of 2002I have served as an educator with Pinellas County Schools for over 20 years, and I continue to grow through learning experiences with colleagues, students and families.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from USF (Go Bulls!) and my master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University.  My wife (also a Pinellas County educator) and I raised our children here in Palm Harbor, where they attended Pinellas County Schools. We love where we live!

I am passionate about ensuring that all students have the opportunity to grow and learn in a safe and challenging environment.  I truly believe that leadership and creativity exist within each child and the job of educators and families is to support students in discovering and reaching their potential.

I look forward to building partnerships with all stakeholders and supporting the Highland Lakes family as we all Empower Leadership!

    Sincerely,

    Daniel Lennox | Assistant Principal
