PTA & SAC

What if I cannot attend a PTA or SAC meeting?

You may send a family representative (must be at least 18 years old) to a maximum of two meetings per school year. The person representing your family must not be a current Lakeview parent. One representative per immediate family is allowed.

What meetings must I attend each month?

Parents are required to attend one meeting each month. A parent may attend either a PTA or SAC meeting in a given month. However, if they miss both the SAC and PTA meeting for that month, that is considered a missed meeting. PTA meetings begin at 7:00 pm. SAC meetings begin at 6:00 pm. “Sign-in” cards will be at each meeting and must be picked up within 15 minutes of the start of the meeting in order to receive attendance credit. Cards are signed and returned at the end of the meeting.

    What is SAC?

SAC is the School Advisory Council made up of parents/guardians, teachers, staff and the community who actively participate in the development of educational priorities, assessment of the school's needs and development of a School Improvement Plan.

Do you have an active PTA? How do I join?

PTA meetings are typically held on the third Tuesday of the month from 7-8 pm. Attendance is mandatory in order to fulfill the fundamental school requirements. Topic and location information are announced prior to the meeting date. PTA membership is $5 per year per person. Forms are enclosed in this packet.
