    About Us

    Pinellas Gulf Coast Academy is an accredited Mid County educational option for students who wish to catch up or accelerate their academic requirements for graduation. Our blended instructional model consists of both online and teacher-directed instruction. Coursework is mastery based, which gives students an opportunity to complete credits at an individualized and often accelerated pace.  

    Highlights

    • Qualified students may partake in dual enrollment by working toward a high school diploma and also attending Pinellas Technical College or St. Petersburg College.
    • The school offers a highly secure environment with a structured student check in process to eliminate distractions from personal belongings. Upon entry to the school, all personal items are checked in and safely secured. Prior to dismissal, all personal items are promptly returned to students. Items may include but are not limited to: jackets, backpacks, hoodies, sweaters, purses, cell phones, smart watches, and any device capable of recording, storing or playing audio visual content. 
    •  Students may choose to accelerate their education by completing the requirements for the 18 credit diploma. 

    Areas of Study

    BLENDED LEARNING, SMALL CLASSROOM ENVIRONMENT  

    • Core courses are offered to meet graduation requirements.
    • Elective courses include Art, Speech, and Cinema.
    • Credit recovery and credit accrual courses are offered to all students. 
    • Dual enrollment at Pinellas Technical College and St. Petersburg College is an option for qualified students. 

    How to Apply

    Throughout the year, students can apply to our school year round. School counselors or administrators may refer students to us for credit recovery services. Families can also inquire by calling or coming to the school to fill out an application. You may also fill out our application online below. Please allow up to 72 hours after you've completed the application for our staff to contact you.  If you have any questions, please call the school.

    Transportation

    Students who live in the following attendance zones may qualify for school district bus transportation; Clearwater, Seminole, Pinellas Park, or Largo. If students are having issues with their bus, please call 727-587-2020.

    Students who do not qualify for district bussing are eligible to receive a PSTA bus pass. Students who live beyond a two-mile radius from the school are also eligible for a bus pass.  

     

    Dress Code

    Students at Pinellas Gulf Coast Academy are expected to be in compliance with Pinellas County School dress code. Please see student handbook.

     

    Accreditation
