Greetings, Perkins Families!

I am so proud to be serving as principal of Perkins Center for the Arts & International Studies!

Our school has a long, rich tradition of helping all students reach for their fullest potential through a uniquely creative experience in the arts and beyond! Our staff works hard to provide ongoing opportunities for students and families to take full advantage of what makes Perkins Magnet Elementary such an incredible school.  This experience happens through vibrant displays of student talent, academic rigor, and expectations of excellence for all. Vital and ongoing communication between school and family is also a key ingredient for each child’s success.  We have many wonderful traditions at Perkins, such as student performances, special parent engagement events, and beyond! I look forward to experiencing this fully immersive school experience alongside our talented students, teachers, staff, and families!

On a personal note, I have served as principal since 2013, including for Pinellas County Schools and in North Carolina. And while as an adult I have focused my passion and work on educating children, back in the day I also pursued a trajectory as a musician, completing a special performing arts track for guitar/music theory and composition while in High School in Long Island, New York.  That experience opened many doors for me and helped me to become who I am today.  It is therefore such a tremendous honor to now be a part of Perkins Elementary. I look forward to serving our community and watching our students explore their talents, growing as young artists, and reaching for the stars!!

Hello Perkins families!

My name is Jessica Flint, and I am excited to introduce myself as the Assistant Principal at Perkins Elementary. I am a proud product of Pinellas County schools. I graduated from the University of Florida with my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Elementary Education. I also have a graduate degree in Educational Leadership from Florida Gulf Coast University. I live in St. Petersburg with my husband, daughter, son, and two dogs. I love the beach, Starbucks, and college football. Go Gators!

I have been with Pinellas County Schools since 2012 and am dedicated to making Perkins the very best it can be. This school year, I am eager to develop positive relationships and believe that a strong partnership between families, students and educators is essential to help our students reach new heights. I am committed to our district vision of enhancing the student experience and helping all students discover their own love of learning and school.
