The National Elementary Honor Society chapter of Sawgrass Lake Elementary is a duly chartered and affiliated chapter of this prestigious national organization. Students are selected to be members of NEHS by a Faculty Council and supervised by our school counselor, Melissa Leech, who serves as the chapter adviser. Each spring, students in the fourth grade are eligible to apply for membership. For the scholarship criterion, a student must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better (all grades of A, B, or S and grades of S, V, or E in conduct). Those students who meet this criterion are invited to complete a Candidate’s Form that provides the Faculty Council with evidence of the candidate’s responsibility, leadership and service at home, at school, and in the community.
