Center for the Arts

  • Our Arts magnet program offers “focus classes” in dance, instrumental music, theater, vocal music, and visual arts. Focus classes allow students to pick a point of interest and focus on that area in great depth. Focus classes are much more than traditional electives offered at other middle schools, allowing the students to study their area of interest during two-period blocks each day. With highly qualified, expert teachers in each focus area and state-of-the-art facilities to support the programs, there is no better place for your student to follow their passion than John Hopkins Middle School.

As a bridge between Perkins Elementary and the Pinellas County Center for the Arts at Gibbs High School – John Hopkins Middle School is the school to enhance your creativity and ignite your passions and prepare for your future. The school’s philosophy encourages students to become critical and reflective thinkers in preparation for success in college, careers, and life. No other Middle School in Pinellas County enables students to immerse themselves in artistic expression while preparing them academically to learn and grow as internationally aware citizens.
