The program offers a sequence of relevant, rigorous course content aligned with the challenging academic standards and technical knowledge required for training as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). The terminal goal is post-secondary career placement.

Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) are the foundation of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) delivery in the United States. Students will have the opportunity to obtain certifications in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) courses and first aid.  Those who successfully complete program coursework will be prepared to practice at the basic life support level in an emergency service setting. Certification as an EMT is a prerequisite for education as a firefighter and paramedic. Additionally, coursework within this program will address the development of leadership skills.
