Battle of the Books
The Battle of the Books is a fun way to get students to read a variety of books and learn to comprehend what they are reading and is a great way to promote recreational reading. The program is a "quiz bowl" type of game in which teams try to identify titles and authors of the 15 Sunshine State Young Readers Award Books. Questions are based on plots, settings and characters.
This program has a competition for grades 3 through 5, however the reading lists are for all grade levels and we encourage each student to read the listed books each school year.
