Howdy! My name is Kristy House and I am one of the Visual Arts Specialists at Perkins. I grew up in Pinellas County, and attended Florida State University to pursue my passion of Studio Art, with focuses in Illustration, Design, and Printmaking. I also minored in Media Communications and Art History.

As an art educator, it is my mission to inspire artists to observe their surroundings to grasp that art is all around, and to analyze how it enhances our day-to-day experiences! I aim to motivate students that we can make art out of anything, and we can use whatever we have to make it. It is my hope to instill confidence in each and every child’s ability to express themselves through creative processes and exploration, and to understand that they ARE artists and they CAN create art.

In my spare time, you’ll always catch me reading a book – even illustrating kids books, too! I never say no to coffee or breakfast food, and I strive to be as good of a person as my three pets think I am.
