Band Club
About: This club is being offered to Blazer Band students, as an optional second band practice each week. However, if your child choses to participate in chorus during the school day, they may still be able to participate in the after-school band club. There are two ways this is possible. The first, is if you can provide your child with their own instruments. The second, is if I still have unassigned instruments after the Blazer Band is formed during the school day (this situation may be more unlikely, as band has grown in popularity).
Grade 4 and 5:
- First Year Players will be meet on Mondays from 3:00-4:00pm
- Second Year (returning) players will meet on Thursdays from 3:00-4:00pm
Contact Information: Ms. Urban, urbanb@pcsb.org
Registration: A flyer will be sent home to the families of our 4th and 5th graders with sign-up information.

Battle of the Books
About: The Battle of the Books is a fun way to get students to read a variety of books and learn to comprehend what they are reading and is a great way to promote recreational reading. The program is a "quiz bowl" type of game in which teams try to identify titles and authors of the 15 Sunshine State Young Readers Award Books. Questions are based on plots, settings and characters.
This program has a competition for grades 3 through 5, however the reading lists are for all grade levels and we encourage each student to read the listed books each school year.
This club will meet in the SPRING SEMESTER. Students who meet in this club will meet following the Battle of the Book Qualifying Test. Registration is NOT available at this time.

Spanish Club
About: Our focus is on sharing the Spanish language and culture with elementary age children. We believe that learning a second language at an early age is one of the best ways to enhance critical thinking skills, boost creativity and help students appreciate cultural diversity at an early stage in life.
We believe that every child is unique and worthwhile and that they learn best in a fun, loving, and accepting environment. Therefore, we teach through a dynamic and interactive curriculum of songs, dance, drama and art.
Our goal is to establish an environment that helps each child enjoy learning a new skill while having fun, sharing with others and being proud of their accomplishments.
