Orange Grove Elementary hosts an annual induction ceremony in the fall for the National Elementary Honor Society.

To be eligible for membership consideration, 4th and 5th-grade students must have earned all As and Bs and Es and Vs for behavior and effort in the previous academic school year for the second semester.  Additionally, candidates must meet high standards of responsibility, service, and leadership.

As a member of NEHS, these students engage in a number of chapter community service projects and meetings throughout the school year.  Our chapter projects have included collecting food donations for Interfaith Food Pantry during Candy Cane Lane and organizing a cleanup at Blossom Lake Park.

NEHS is modeled on it's companion organization, the National Honor Society (NHS), which is the nation's oldest and best-known student recognition program.  NEHS was founded in 2008 by the National Association of Secondary School Principals, which is also the parent organization for NHS, in partnership with the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) Foundation.  Visit www.nehs.org for more information.
