As the Cypress Woods Eagles we use the word “S.O.A.R.” to represent our Guidelines for Success. Guidelines for success are posted throughout the school with specific examples for each location.

With this acronym, we are able to provide PBIS by faculty and staff awarding “feathers” to students. “Feathers” are given out daily for meeting the guidelines for success. If a teacher or administrator observes a student demonstrating one or more of the S.O.A.R. guidelines through exemplary behavior, they have the opportunity to earn a “feather”.

Below is an example of what a feather looks like:

Once per week, individual student feathers are celebrated during lunch. If a student has earned a feather, they are recognized in front of their peers by having their name called, choosing a prize, and signing their name on a poster that gets displayed in the cafeteria.

Whole classes are also able to earn recognition through receiving a class “feather” for all students in a class demonstrating the guidelines for success. Class feathers go into a monthly drawing. The winner gets recognized with a poster displayed in their classroom, as well as a mystery celebration (i.e., a popcorn party or class wide game).
