    FUNDAMENTALS OF JOURNALISM

    This course provides students with a comprehensive introduction to journalism, covering the principles of news writing, reporting, and ethics. Students learn how to research, interview, and write articles for various media platforms. The class emphasizes critical thinking, media literacy, and the importance of factual, unbiased reporting.

    DIGITAL DESIGN

    This course teaches students the fundamentals of digital design, focusing on graphic design principles and the use of industry-standard software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Students learn to create visually appealing and effective digital content, including layouts, logos, and promotional materials. The class emphasizes creativity, design theory, and practical skills applicable to various digital media fields.

    PHOTOJOURNALISM

    In this class, students explore the art and craft of telling stories through photographs. They learn the technical skills of photography, including camera operation, composition, and lighting, as well as the ethical considerations unique to photojournalism. The course also covers photo editing software and the creation of compelling photo essays and multimedia projects.

    DIGITAL MEDIA PRODUCTION

    This course provides students with hands-on experience in creating and producing digital media content. It covers the fundamentals of video production, audio recording, and multimedia storytelling. Students learn to use industry-standard software and equipment to produce videos, podcasts, and other digital content. The class emphasizes the entire production process, from pre-production planning and scripting to shooting, editing, and post-production.

    TECHNICAL WRITING

    This course introduces students to the principles and practices of technical writing. It focuses on creating clear, concise, and effective documentation for technical fields. Students learn to produce various types of technical documents, such as user manuals, reports, and instructions, while honing their skills in audience analysis, organization, and visual communication.

    YEARBOOK

    This course focuses on the creation and production of the school's yearbook. Students learn the skills needed for yearbook design, including layout, photography, copywriting, and graphic design. They work collaboratively to plan, organize, and execute all aspects of yearbook production, from theme development to final publication.

    NEWSROOM

    This course immerses students in the dynamic environment of a working newsroom. Students engage in all aspects of news production, including researching, reporting, writing, editing, and publishing news stories across various media platforms. They learn the principles of journalism, such as news judgment, ethics, and accuracy, while working under real-world deadlines. The class fosters teamwork, critical thinking, and effective communication skills as students collaborate to produce school news publications, broadcasts, and digital content.
