• School Attendance

    Attend today, Succeed Tomorrow!

School attendance and the ability to succeed academically are closely connected. We ask parents and guardians to help us in our efforts to increase student attendance by encouraging your child to a good night's rest and an early rise, so that they can make it to school by the 7:10 a.m. start time.

The Pinellas County Schools Student Code of Conduct outlines state policy for school attendance, PCS definitions for tardies, excused and unexcused absences, make-up work and more. Please click here for attendance guidelines embedded in the PCS Student Code of Conduct.

In the event that a student misses school, parents may report the absence to their child's program office by dialing 727-893-2780 and the following extensions:

    CWMP - ext. 2327

    Fundamental - 2325

    CSL - 2324

    Five Excuses by Parent

Parents may excuse up to five absences during the semester without any documentation (such as a doctor’s note).  After five absences, documentation will be required to excuse the absence. Documentation may include, but is not limited to doctor's notes, funeral notices, court appointments, etc.

Students attending religious services or religious instruction (along with supporting documentation) are also excusable with 3-days advance notice to the school.
