Daniel Rivera
Daniel Rivera is an elementary general music educator who recently relocated from Miami to join the faculty at Perkins Elementary Center for the Arts and International Studies. With a culturally responsive approach, he fosters creativity, inclusivity, and artistic excellence in every classroom.
Daniel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance from the New World School of the Arts (2017) and a Master’s degree in Music Education (2023), combining deep musical training with innovative teaching methods. He is an Orff-certified educator, has completed Modern Band 101 and 102, and holds World Music Drumming Levels 1 and 2 certification—tools he uses to engage and inspire both students and fellow educators.
A leader in the field, Daniel has served as Secretary and Webmaster for the Dade County Music Educators Association, Secretary and Member Representative for the South Florida Orff Chapter, and Music Will Miami Ambassador. His conducting credits include the 2023 FEMEA Rising Stars event, the 2024 Superintendent’s Honors Orff Ensemble and Modern Band, and the 2025 FEMEA North Regional Orff Ensemble.
In addition to teaching, Daniel is a published author through the F-flat Books publishing group. His debut release, Empathy, is a social-emotional learning (SEL)-based Orff unit that reflects his passion for nurturing students’ emotional intelligence through music.
Daniel is driven by a love of music-making and a commitment to building ensembles that not only perform but evolve—constantly striving for growth, expression, and excellence.
