Welcome to First Grade at Curtis Fundamental! My name is Maureen Lewis. My husband and I relocated here from Orlando, the week of Hurricane Irma to be exact! I have been teaching over 25 years in primary education. I grew up in Crystal River, Fl and still visit my family there often. I received my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Central Florida with advanced certification in Early Childhood and ESOL. I am passionate about teaching and strive to pass the love of learning on to my students.

When not at school, I am spending time with my husband and our four-legged fur babies; two small dogs and two sweet cats. We have three children that live out of state.  AJ,  is a welder in Alabama, Brianna is living the dream in Aspen, Co and Riley,  is in the US Navy, stationed in Sasabo, Japan.  I enjoy my summers boating, biking and golf carting around the area!  Always get a few professional development classes in too!   We spend a great amount of time traveling to see our friends and family in Crystal River, Leesburg, and of course Orlando! During my time off we enjoy traveling out of state as well.  Chicago, Denver, Banff, DC/Arlington, Asheville, Baltimore, Savannah, Hawaii, Napa Valley, NYC, Vegas, Mobile and Aspen are all checked off the bucket list….
