I was born in Hancock, Michigan, which is located near the top of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. People from the UP of Michigan are referred to as Yoopers, a name we cherish dearly.

Currently, I live in Clearwater with my little Yorkie named Izzy (she is quite the handful). I share a home with my sister Vicki, who still lives in the Upper Peninsula, but spends a good portion of the winter here in Florida. She is retired and loving her snowbird life.

I come from a family of teachers. My great grandparents started a school in Finland and both of my parents were teachers; so, you could say that teaching is in my blood. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from SPC’s school of Education in December of 2013.

Prior to teaching, I worked as the assistant to the Program Manager for a company called Forensic Technology, in Largo. We worked in close contact with the ATF, which required me to maintain a government security clearance. I have also worked as a Medical biller, dining room manager, and I even sold full time on eBay for some time.

I have always enjoyed working, but I have to say that teaching is my passion.
