Art

  • Hello! My name is Mrs. Anderson and I am thrilled to be your student’s Visual Arts teacher this year! It is an honor to have the opportunity to be a part of your child’s creative and artistic growth, in this, my 16th year of teaching Art at Rawlings!

Throughout the year, I will deliver a curriculum that exposes our students to art history and to a diverse range of artists, art styles, and art mediums. They will learn how to use the Elements of Art and the Principles of Design to create their own masterpieces!

Your young artist will create drawings, paintings, a sculpture, a ceramics project, a mixed media/fiber project, and complete digital media artwork on iPads from our newly acquired, permanent iPad Art Lab.

I love to celebrate students’ success by displaying their artwork throughout the school. There are also opportunities for acceptance into one of several of Pinellas County Schools’ juried art exhibits. I look forward to collaborating with our music teacher, Mr. Allen-Reddick, to display student art in conjunction with his spectacular concerts this year to provide families with a Night of the Arts.

As in the past, students will be provided with all art materials, most of which will be shared; students may also bring their own supplies.

I am truly excited for the upcoming school year and I look forward to the creative solutions your son or daughter will share with me.

    Best regards,

    Mrs. Anderson
