Did you know that we are an AVID school? This college readiness system is used by the PCS school district in elementary through high school grades. Their mission is to close the achievement gap and prepare students for college readiness and success in global society.

In the elementary grades, AVID focuses on writing to learn, inquiry, collaboration, organization, and reading to learn, also known as WICOR. Though your child might be years away from college, your child will be offered AVID electives once they reach middle school to prepare for college readiness. Going forward, there will be a focus on the WICOR system and a college-going environment here at Ponce.
