Madeira Beach Fundamental K-8

The Flying Mantas Kite Team is in its 8^th year at Madeira Beach Fundamental and was the first school-based sport kite team in the country.  Students learn the basics of sport kite flying and can try out several styles and sizes before purchasing their own kite.  

The team has two sponsors, Windworks in Johns Pass and Prism Kites. Windworks gives discounts to all team members and Prism Kites provides the team with additional support.
 

This year, the team will participate in two festivals in Treasure Island.  Signed permission slips with updated parent information are required.  Space is limited due to the size of the flying field, so students will be accepted based on the order permission slips are returned.  The team is open to fifth through eighth grade students.  

Practice will take place on Thursdays from 2:30-3:30 on the middle school PE field.
