Volunteering

  • Volunteering in your child’s school is important and rewarding; ANY amount of time you can give is appreciated!

Research has shown that student success is directly linked to parental involvement, both at home and school. Grades rise, self esteem grows, and schools improve. If you show how important school is by getting involved, then your student will also feel it is important.

    New Volunteers:

All new volunteers are required to complete an online volunteer registration and screening process.  For more information on the process.

    Returning Volunteers:

Re-Activate Your Status and Entering Volunteer Hours:
Returning volunteers must re-activate their status in the Focus Volunteer System at the beginning of each school year in order to volunteer in the classrooms, chaperone field trips and more.

Follow the instructions to - Volunteer FOCUS

All volunteers are asked to record ALL of your volunteer hours in the Focus Volunteer System. EVERY hour counts whether you are in the classroom, helping at a special event, working on a project from home or participating in our PTA! These hours are reported to Tallahassee twice a year and show the level of community support at our school!

Interested in becoming a Level 2 Volunteer?

This is an optional additional level of background screening that is required when volunteering in a situation where you may be unsupervised with students such as field trip chaperones who are driving, overnight field trips, etc. Please review this link about Level 2 Procedures for more information. https://www.pcsb.org/Page/12334
