Ms. Keiper, Principal

  • I am extremely proud to be the Principal at MK Rawlings Elementary.  It is my mission to ensure a positive learning environment that encourages family engagement, integrity and always doing what is best for students. I look forward to continuing the traditions that make Rawlings a school of academic and cultural excellence that provides memorable experiences for students.

At Rawlings, we focus on a rigorous curriculum, engaging culture and climate and continual celebrations with and for all. Together, we will continue to provide outstanding academic opportunities with a renewed focus on writing while supporting the growth of the whole child.

I look forward to seeing you all on campus for our family events. Feel free to send me a dojo message or email with any suggestions or concerns.

Ms. Heuman, Assistant Principal

  • I am excited for the opportunity to serve, and be a part of, the Rawlings Elementary family and community now since the fall of 2022.  After beginning my career with Pinellas County Schools in the late 90s as a ParaProfessional and then a substitute, I started teaching my first classroom of students at Maximo Elementary in 2003.  I spent six years in the classroom, followed by several years working as a Reading and RtI coach before moving into administration.  After spending one year at Pinellas Park Elementary as Assistant Principal, I served as Assistant Principal at San Jose Elementary in Dunedin for eight years before joining the staff and students at Rawlings.

After receiving my Associates degree from SPJC, I graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education as well as a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership.  My current certifications include Elementary Education (K-6), Reading (K-12), ESOL Endorsement, Educational Leadership (K-12) and School Principal (K-12).

I am excited to begin this journey with the staff, students, and families of Rawlings Elementary.  As a mother of 3 Pinellas County School graduates, and a grandmother to a little one, I am deeply invested in seeing our students grow and learn in all areas, both academically and socially.  I have always held a firm belief that our students can achieve academic success.  We can accomplish this through a positive partnership with our families and by providing equitable access to a high-quality education.  I am excited to be a part of this work at Rawlings Elementary!  I look forward to seeing you on campus!
