Electricity

  • The US Bureau of Labor expects a 14% growth in this industry.  Candidates for this program do well if they possess good critical thinking and problem-solving skills, independent focus and strong math skills. 

    This is a great foundation program for future electrical, industrial, and mechanical engineers. Students will have hands-on experiences in wiring, troubleshooting and repair. 

    Graduates will have the opportunity to obtain the National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) and OSHA certifications.  This program includes real-world application by working with Habitat for Humanity.

     

    Industry Certifications:

    • NCCER Certifications in Construction Technology
    • OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety
    • AHA American Heart Association CPR
    • First Aid

     

    Student requirements:

    • Purchasing annual school insurance.
    • Program specific dress code:
      • Closed-toe shoes.  No flip-flops or slides due to safety concerns around machinery
      • Long pants in denim or twill.  No synthetic fabrics due to safety concerns with sparks from grinders.
      • Students are required to wear dark blue polos daily.
