Dear Douglas Jamerson Family and Community,
It is with great enthusiasm and a heart full of anticipation that I introduce myself as the new principal of Douglas L. Jamerson, Jr. Elementary. I am thrilled to join this wonderful school community and look forward to working alongside all of you to create an exceptional learning environment for our students.
Allow me to share a bit about myself. I have dedicated my career to education, with 17 years spent in various roles within Pinellas and Orange County school districts. I received my bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and my master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of Central Florida.
From my beginnings as an elementary classroom teacher to my recent tenure as Assistant Principal at The Boca Ciega High School and previously, Largo Middle IB World School, I have always been passionate about fostering a love of learning and creating a positive school climate for all students.
My commitment is to build upon the solid foundation already established at Douglas Jamerson and to collaborate with staff, students, families, and the community to ensure that all students have access to a high-quality education that prepares them for success in the 21st century.
I believe in the power of open communication and encourage you to reach out to me with any questions, concerns, or suggestions you may have. I am eager to get to know you all and to learn more about your hopes and aspirations for our school.

Throughout my career in education as a classroom teacher, school-based Math Coach, and district Instructional Staff Developer, I have been fortunate to work with diverse student populations and witness firsthand the transformative power of education. I am committed to ensuring that every student at Jamerson receives a well-rounded education that not only fosters academic excellence but also nurtures their unique talents, interests, and character.
I believe that a strong partnership between parents, students, and educators is essential for creating an environment where every child can thrive academically, emotionally, and socially. Together, we can work collaboratively to address any challenges and celebrate the achievements of our students.
I am eager to get to know each of you and your children personally, as building strong connections with our school community is essential for success.
