• Students at Jamerson love music!  Every child attends music class weekly and is engaged in hands-on learning, playing, and creativity.

Jamerson is proud to offer a full Yamaha MIE Keyboard lab and Orff Schulwerk curriculum. Orff integrates all of the musical elements: melody, rhythm, harmony, form and timbre.  In the Orff process the child is the center of creativity, where the stress is on active learning through creating music together.  We also offer an exciting drumming experience using the World of Drumming program. This culturally rich curriculum teaches percussion technique and rhythmic patterns through the use of a variety of hands on experiences with authentic culturally diverse drums.

Students can apply to participate in a number of additional ensembles during the school day.  The ensembles perform at many school and community events throughout the year...
    Beginning and Advanced Band (3rd-5th)
    Strings (3rd-5th)
    Chorus (4th-5th)
    Jammers-World Drumming Ensemble (4th-5th)

Engineering and mathematics are naturally integrated into the music curriculum, including reading music, examining instrument and stage design,  and instrument design challenges.
