• Principal’s Report 

     

     

    It’s hard to believe we are already halfway through the school year.  Parents will have the opportunity to view their students' second nine-weeks and first semester grades, which will be posted in Parent Focus on January 16, 2025.

    As we move through the school year, we want to highlight some of our recent accomplishments and activities:

     

    • Mr. Matthew Clay, Social Studies teacher, has been nominated as our OFHS Teacher of the Year and will represent us for the PCS Teacher of the Year nomination. We are proud to have him on our team!
    • Our Theatre Program presented The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe on November 13th, 14th, and 15th. The production was a great success, with excellent attendance each night. A heartfelt congratulations to all involved in bringing this magical performance to life!
    • At the 2024 District 4 Thespian Competition, held December 5-7th. Our talented Theatre Artists earned several high honors, including advancing to the Florida State Thespians One-Act Festival this spring with their outstanding performance of We Are the Tigers, one of only three One-Acts chosen to represent our district. Additionally, they received the following awards: Best ActressSamantha Marshall, Best Tech, and All-Star Cast honors for Angelina Walker. Congratulations to our entire theatre team on these incredible achievements!
    • On November 19th, 114 students were inducted into the National Honor Society. We are so proud of these students' academic excellence and commitment to service.
    • Seminole Lake Rotary Students of the Month for October, November, and December included: Julia Mellinger & Danie Saenz, Isabella Snyder, Kevin Saenz, Sydney Seabrooks, and Jackson Berglund.
    • Congratulations to Aliyah Lai (Eastern Florida State College) and Jenna Neupaver (University of Tampa) for recently signing their letters of intent to play college softball.
    • Hunter Rudisill (Emery-Ridell Aeronautical University) and Jack Schellenberg (Coker University) also recently signed their letters of intent to play college lacrosse.
    • Sydney Seabrooks signed her letter of intent to attend and compete in gymnastics at The University of North Carolina. We wish her the best of luck!
    • Our Boys’ and Girls’ Cross-Country Teams had an outstanding season:
      • Both teams were crowned District Champions and PCAC Champions.
      • The Girls' team went on to become Regional Champions and placed 13th at States.
      • The Boys' team placed 3rd at Regionals and 15th at States.
    • Our Swim and Dive Teams continued their dominance:
      • The Boys' and Girls' teams were both District Champions (9th consecutive year) and PCAC Runners-Up.
      • The Boys' team made history by being crowned Regional Champions for the first time ever, and both teams placed 13th at States.
      • The Boys' 400 Freestyle Relay team of Arnas Monkelis, Strader Franzese, Kevin Saenz, and Bobby Ryley placed 6th at States and set a new school record!
    • Our Girls’ Volleyball Team was crowned District Champions, PCAC Runners-Up, and advanced to the Regional Finals.
    • Holland Downey, Campbell Fish, and Kaylin Woods were selected to play in the PVCA Senior All-Star Game. Coach Ashley Martin was named FACA 5A District 14 Coach of the Year, and Holland Downey was honored as FACA 5A District 14 Player of the Year.
    • Our Varsity Football Team ended the season with a record of 5 wins and 5 losses. Congratulations to Dylan Xayasongkham, Walter Wolfe, Nico D’Angio, Matt Redman, and Mikey Shoro, who were selected to play in the Pinellas North/South Senior All-Star Football Game.
    • Miley Hildebrand and Cassidy McCraney were selected to the Pinellas North/South All-Star Cheerleading Team.
    • Our Boys’ and Girls’ Bowling Teams had remarkable seasons:
      • The Boys' Varsity team finished Runner-Up at PCACs and placed 3rd at the State District Tournament.
      • The Girls' Varsity team placed 3rd at PCACs and 4th at the District Tournament.
      • The Boys' JV team finished 3rd at PCACs, while the Girls' JV team were crowned PCAC Champions for the second consecutive year!
      • Brianna Davidson, Giovanni Parmar, and Russell Welsh earned All-County First Team honors.
      • Isabella List, Riley Nassoiym, Ava Robbins, Ella Ross, and Obi Miehl earned All-County Second Team honors.
      • Coach John Foss was named Florida Gulf Coast Bowling Coach of the Year.
    • Our Girls’ Golf Team (2nd), Varsity Football (3rd) and Girls’ volleyball (4th) for being recognized as a top 5 Team GPA in the State of our School Size classification in the FHSAA Academic State Championships – fall results.

     

    We are resuming all parent meetings (Boosters, SAC/12th grade, PTSA/9th grade) in January. Please be sure to check our school website for specific meeting dates and times.
