Athletic Announcements and News

  • Sports Night Event 2024

This event will be held on Th July 18th from 5-8 PM in the Warrior Gym.  New to the school and have questions about our sports programs?  Want to get paperwork and other requirements completed and turned in but have questions?  Want to buy spirit wear and get prepared for the upcoming year with your Osceola swag? Then please join us! PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT MANDATORY TO ATTEND!  If you are planning on doing a Fall Sport, it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that all paperwork be submitted no later than M 7/22 to have time to get cleared on time.

Special Note about 2024-25 Paperwork:  Due to the NIL (Name, Image and Likeness) being passed but NOT ratified, FHSAA Bylaw 9.9 Amatuerism is STILL in effect until the State Board of Education ratifies it.  At that time, the FHSAA will give us direction on implementation.  This will probably lead to a modification in paperwork at that time.  This is expected to occur soon after Fall Sports begin.  If your student is doing a Fall Sport, be ready to update paperwork to keep your child’s status eligible (we expect one or two forms to either be added or changed as a result).  A callout will be sent out to families and coaches will be apprised of this as soon as we get the information.

    2024-2025 Athletic Participation

All students wanting to participate in 2024-2025 Athletics must fill out the updated paperwork. The paperwork can be obtained by using the link to the right or a copy can be picked up at the front office. In addition to the paperwork, students must complete the following items and submit them:

       1.  Certificates for the annual watching of the 3 required safety videos:  Concussions / Heat Illness Prevention / Sudden Cardiac Arrest (they must have the student name on the certificate - if viewed under someone else's account, each certificate needs to be signed by the student).  Videos can be found at
    www.nfhslearn.com
       2.  Mandatory School Insurance – purchased at
https://www.pcsb.org/Page/15271. Students wanting to participate in Tackle Football must purchase a football insurance policy appropriate for the level they are playing at. This insurance policy covers all other sports that they want to play through next summer. Students participating in any other sport can purchase either them at school or the 24 Hour policy.  One policy will cover all sports through next summer (except Tackle Football). You do not need to purchase multiple policies.  Insurance becomes available to purchase on 7/1.  Note:  The policy will begin when Fall Sports start on 7/29 or date purchased thereafter and  and will NOT cover student for summer participation prior to that date.
       3.  Birth certificate copy (not original) for incoming students only.
       4.  Please make sure a valid email is somewhere on the paperwork and that current email is updated with the school.  You will receive an email about the status of student’s paperwork when it has been reviewed.

       5.  GPA requirement:  In order to participate in FHSAA sports, a student must have an unweighted GPA of a 2.0 by the beginning of the first day of school.  Ninth graders have a waiver for the first semester and will begin their GPA requirement in the Spring semester of their ninth grade year.

Please contact the coach of the sport for information pertaining to the particular sport you are interested in.  A complete list of coaches is provided.  Many coaches have an email blast that they send out for communication.  Please contact the coach to get on their email list.

Click here for coach contact information.

NOTES:  Band paperwork will NOT be accepted in lieu of Athletics paperwork. The forms are NOT the same. If a student is participating in both Band and a Sport, he/she must fill out separate packets. Students must have ALL of the above completed to even do summer conditioning.

If you have any questions, please email the Athletic Coordinator, Michele Copello:copellom@pcsb.org
