What is the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme?

  • A large part of the St. Petersburg High School IB experience centers around the IB Learner Profile. We want our students to not only excel academically, we want to focus on the whole child, their interests and abilities.

The International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end, the IBO works with schools, governments, and international organizations to develop challenging programs of international education and rigorous assessment. These programs encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

Our International Baccalaureate Programme is a rigorous course of studies meeting the needs of highly motivated secondary school students. Designed as a two-year, St. Petersburg High School curated pre-IB and a two-year International Baccalaureate comprehensive curriculum, the IB diploma model incorporates the best educational elements of many countries.
