Admissions Criteria:

***Students are only admitted to our program for 9th or 10th grade. We do not accept students who will be entering 11th grade. 

Student must successfully complete the Algebra 1 Honors (or earn Algebra 1 credit through the Credit Acceleration Program (CAP)) and score proficient on the FSA Algebra 1 EOC or equivalent standardized test for Algebra.

Student must earn a final grade of A or B for each academic subject in 6^th & 7^th grade and semester 1 grade for each academic subject in 8^th grade.  Academic subjects include Math, Science, Social Studies, English, and World Languages.

Student must achieve at least one of the minimum test scores as outlined below for both mathematics and ELA:

Mathematics & ELA

• Level 4 or 5 on Grade 6 FSA Math
• Level 4 or 5 on Grade 7 FAST Math

How to Apply:

To apply to this program, you will need to live in the south application area, comprised of the high school zones for Lakewood, Boca Ciega, Gibbs, St. Petersburg, and Northeast High Schools. 

Once the application is completed online, please send a copy of the student’s 6th and 7th-grade standardized reading and math test scores and 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade report cards to the IB office at St. Petersburg High School.

How to Apply for a District Application Program

Applying As a 10th Grader: 

To be on pace with our 9th graders, students applying as 10th graders must have the following courses: 

• AP World History
• Algebra 2 or Geometry
• Biology Honors
• English 2 Honors
• Spanish Honors or French Honors
