Due to significant damage to another school site, the Disston Academy program will need to relocate to a new location so that repairs can be made to ensure a safe and welcoming learning environment for all students. It is anticipated that this will take at least several months. Please see the latest relocation information below.

TELESCHOOL INFO: Moving forward, Disston Academy and Teleschool families will need to call the main line at Lealman Innovation Academy at  727-528-5802 for questions and support regarding anything related to Disston Academy or Teleschool placements.
Callers should ask for the “Disston or Teleschool office” when they need to get in touch with administrators or counselors. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but we want to ensure that our families have a direct line to the staff serving your students.

On Monday, September 30, and Tuesday, October 1, the school will remain closed for students so that teachers and staff can prepare to welcome students on Wednesday, October 2. Students can engage in virtual learning activities by utilizing their Edmentum accounts. Staff will also use the Teaching and Learning Link to supplement instruction.

To provide continuity of learning, on Wednesday, October 2, the Disston Academy community will relocate to the new site at Lealman Innovation Academy (4900 28th St N, Saint Petersburg, FL 33714) and operate on 7:25 a.m. arrival and dismissal at 1:55 p.m schedule

Monday-Tuesday:  Students in high school have an opportunity to engage in content and skills building curriculum in English, Math, Science and Social Studies within the High School (HS) Enrichment SharePoint site. Students may access those activities through this link HS Enrichment SharePoint which is located in students' Clever pages.

We know this plan is not ideal, but the district and school leaders remain committed to providing a quality learning experience for all students while we repair the damage caused by Hurricane Helene. To assist the community during this transition a family meeting will be held Monday, September 30, at 5 p.m. in the Disston Media Center.

The Open House scheduled for this week has been canceled.

If there are questions about transportation, please call the Transportation Call Center at 727-587-2020. The Call Center will be open on Sunday, September 29 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
