Keep Tyrone Beautiful
On 11/1/24, the Tyrone Speech and Debate team students began their clean-up initiative, post-hurricanes and post-Halloween. Between the devastation and celebration, our campus was in need of some TLC.
We began at 8:15 on Friday Nov 1st (Ms. Roberts' birthday) and continued for one hour. We picked up debris, trash, and whatever else we found that didn’t belong on campus. The students enjoyed helping their school so much, we decided to do this after practice on the first Friday of every month. We are going to call it ‘Keep Tyrone Beautiful’. A play on ‘Keep Pinellas Beautiful.’ The team is now inspired to do more within our school and hope to start a uniform drive to help students and families in need. More to come on that particular project.
The team members who joined in on Nov 1st: 8th graders--Isabella Machado Mayor, Dralyr Ammerman, Kristijan Kokotovic, Alejandro Yanes Dominguez; 7th graders--Nathaniel Haines, Abigail Knuth; as well as Ms. Roberts (Coach and Civics teacher).
