    PE:

    Our focus as a P.E. Department at Skycrest, is to provide engaging activities that encourage physical fitness, safety and fun through movement. The goal is to educate the whole child with an emphasis on Social and Emotional Learning Competencies.  The areas targeted are:  Self-Awareness, Social Awareness, Responsible Decision-Making, Self-Management and Relationship Skills.  Students in VPK through 5th grade are provided PE three days a week.

    Art:

    At Skycrest, all K-5 students are enrolled in visual arts courses and receive 45 minutes once a week in a well-supplied art room or designated art-making area.  Students receive world-class art instruction and numerous studio-based experiences based on the Florida Next Generation State Standards in the following media: drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed media, digital media, sculpture, and ceramics.  At the end of the year, art is displayed at the annual Curriculum Cultural Night.

    Music:

    Music classes are provided for all K-5th grade students once a week.  Students are introduced to many genres of music.  Skycrest also has two pianos and drums for students to learn drum rhythm.  In grades 4 and 5, chorus and strings are offered.  Strings class is offered in the mornings with Mr. Hanson and chorus is conducted during the school day once a week.
