What should I do if I’m struggling?

    • If you are struggling with a course or standard within a course, we highly recommend you contact your teacher first. All teacher emails can be found on the NEHI Staff List

    • Reach out to a friend in the same class

    • Use the power of the Internet.  Type the problem in the search bar and select from YouTube videos, articles, excerpts from book, and many other sources

    Homework Tips

    Pay attention in classes

    • It'll reduce the time you spend trying to learn the topic at home

    Establish a routine

    • Make a schedule and stick to it.
    • Decide the best time for doing homework.  You may think the best time is right after school, or you may need a break first and then do homework after dinner.
    • Do homework at the same time every day.  If your involved in after school  activities, homework comes first!
      • Since coaches sometimes change practice schedules from week to week, plan ahead to complete homework assignments.

    Set up a study area

    • Do homework in the same place every day
    • Find a place with proper lighting where you are comfortable

    Homework survival kit

    • Get the supplies you need: pencils, eraser, pencil sharpener, paper, crayons,  dictionary, scissors, glue, ruler, calculator and other supplies
    • Keep supplies in a box near the study area

    Distractions

    • Homework time needs to be a time when you can concentrate.  Work at reducing distractions and interruptions by Social Media and TV.

Focus on the subjects you've been struggling with

    • Give some extra time towards the topics you're not the best at
