Targeted Program - Non-Public

  • Under Title I of the ESEA, as amended by ESSA, Local Education Agencies (LEAs) are required to provide eligible children attending private elementary and secondary schools, their teachers, and their families with Title I services or other benefits that are equitable to those provided to eligible public-school children, their teachers, and their families.

The Title I Private School Program provides additional education services so that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education. Private school students who reside in a participating public school attendance area and are identified as low-achieving are eligible to receive Title I, Part A services. The Title I, Part A services provided by the LEA for private school participants should be designed to meet educational needs and supplement the educational services provided by the private school. These services may be provided by LEAs or by contractors who are independent of the private school.

Pinellas County Schools Title I instructional services are provided by third-party contractors, Catapult Learning, LLC. and One on One Learning. The annual allocation of Title I dollars is used to provide additional instructional services for students, professional development for teachers, and family engagement activities designed to help students succeed academically.
