Annual Financial Reports

  • The Annual Financial Report (AFR) is the unaudited data submitted to the Department of Education by Florida school districts. It includes revenue detailed by federal, state, and local sources, and expenditures detailed by function (the purpose of an expenditure) and object (what was purchased or the service obtained).

  • The Expenditures Per Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) Student is compiled by the Department of Education utilizing the Annual Financial Report submitted by Florida school districts. This report includes per-FTE-student expenditures for the general, special revenue, debt service, and capital project funds. This report excludes the fiduciary, enterprise, and internal service funds. Per the Florida Department of Education memo communicated on December 20, 2019, this data is used by school districts to satisfy the publication requirement of chapter 2019-115, Laws of Florida (L.O.F.).
