Applying for Prekindergarten Programs

*If your student is currently enrolled in PreK3 with Pinellas County Schools, they will automatically have a seat for VPK at their current school site. If you would like to apply for a spot at a different school for the 2026-2027 school year, please submit a new online VPK application for next year before 5:00pm on December 9, 2025. 

In early 2026, current PreK3 families will receive information to apply for the VPK certificate of eligibility with the Early Learning Coalition of Pinellas County and a link to pay the registration fee online.

APPLY FOR A SEAT: The first application period will open November 19, 2025, and close at 5:00pm on December 9, 2025

Make sure you have a Parent Portal Account. You can create one by visiting focus.pcsb.org.

To apply, visit focus.pcsb.org and access the “Student Reservation System” link on the left side of the navigation pane.

ACCEPT A SEAT: December 16, 2025 - January 9, 2026

Log back into focus.pcsb.org to accept invitation and secure the seat.

ENROLL AT ASSIGNED SCHOOL: Enrollment opens January 20, 2026

After enrollment opens, families will need to register at their assigned school and pay the online nonrefundable registration fee. Please bring the following required documents to the school site:

• • Birth certificate/proof of child's age
  • Physical examination certificate signed by a licensed examiner
  • Proof of Florida residency (two forms of documentation required)

VPK CERTIFICATE OF ELIGIBILITY: Application opens January 1, 2026 (Please note: The certificate is only required for VPK)

The application for the VPK Certificate of Eligibility opens January 1, 2026. Please visit the Early Learning Coalition of Pinellas County to apply.
