Mrs. Melecio received her Bachelor of Arts in Education degree from the State University of New York @ Brockport.  She has been teaching since 2006 and has been a member of the Osceola Middle school staff since 2023.

Mrs. Melecio teaches H.S. Credit Courses: Spanish 1 and Spanish 2 and Beginning Italian.

Her philosophy or class motto is “Abriendo mentes,conectando culturas,una palabra a la vez.” “Aprire le menti, connettere le culture, una parola alla volta.” (Opening minds, connecting cultures, one word at a time.)

"Hola, my name is Brenda Melecio-Garcia (Mrs. Melecio), I was born on the island of Puerto Rico and when my father (Roberto Melecio) finished his tour of duty in the army (Artillery Specialist), he took our family from the island (I have 3 sisters and 1 Brother) to Rochester, New York, I was 8. In Rochester, I met my husband Charles of 35 years, and we have 5 beautiful children and 9 beautiful grandkids. I have been teaching for 19 years, five in North Carolina and the rest here in Florida. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education with Bilingual Extension from the State University of New York at Brockport, I majored in Spanish. I am highly qualified to teach, and I love teaching Spanish! I look forward to meeting you all & having a positive and successful year."
